JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic PR & Marketing Intern to support the PR & Marketing Manager in executing strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and sponsorship activation. This role offers hands-on experience in public relations, media management, event coordination, and digital marketing within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PR Support:
    • Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and content for external communication. 
    • Maintain and update media contact lists.
    • Monitor media coverage and prepare weekly reports.
  • Marketing Assistance:
    • Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns. 
    • Assist in coordinating sponsorship activities and events.
    • Contribute to the creation of digital content, including social media posts and newsletters.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Provide logistical support for events, activations, and sponsorship initiatives. 
    • Ensure brand visibility and alignment at sponsored events.
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Help manage budgets, invoices, and other administrative duties. 
    • Organize and archive campaign assets and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Passion for sports, media, and brand marketing

Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act
